N. and T-L are two brothers working in the spice export field for multinational companies. Their job has often led them into long stays in the beautiful port city of Toamasina. On this basis, their project to have several bungalows at their disposal to relax in the middle of nature was born.

They fell under the spell of a discreet location, on the edge of a lake, in the lush tropical forest of Foulpointe. We accompanied them through the whole process : from authorization for construction, the project conception and construction to the management of the construction site.

Architect Match

Once their purchase was finalized, we put them in touch with a Mauritian architect, now retired, the perfect match for their expectations with his experience in hospitality projects in Mauritius. He designed the bungalows following the requirements of our clients, and the natural challenges of the land. They chose individual houses mixing artisanal and contemporary styles to give a glam-camping vibe while fitting in the current climate and the surrounding landscape. The houses are made of concrete with wooden cladding.

Construction

Each bungalow is composed of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchenette and a living room. It took four months to make them, a tight deadline punctuated by obstacles. The weather and the difficult dirt road leading to the construction site were both challenging. Its deplorable state turned the materials supply tricky. Despite those difficulties, a dedicated team was mobilized to carry out the mission. Their perseverance and ingenuity allowed them to overcome each obstacle.
